Magistrate Barceló Camacho graduated from the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, with specializations in criminal law from several universities and various degrees in criminal and procedural matters.

For most of his working life (30 years) he served in the judicial branch, in positions such as notifier, clerk, assistant at the Bogota prosecutor's office, acting prosecutor, court secretary, chief clerk, criminal judge, advising counsel to the second office of the delegate criminal prosecutor, auxiliary magistrate of the Supreme Court and, from 2011, magistrate of the criminal chamber of the Supreme Court.

His portrait, a photomosaic of 4,800 images of the family's destroyed home, of the cell where the artist's father was held, and of the home at the time of the arrest, was created for déformé and destroyed by a machine over the course of the exhibition at Galerie l'OEuvre de l'Autre (Chicoutimi, 2013). One production, one destruction. Five years later, the same face returned, rebuilt in jam labels, in his Marmelade portrait.
