Norbert Wiener (1894-1964), American mathematician and child prodigy, founder of cybernetics: the study of control and communication in the animal and the machine. His work on feedback and information laid groundwork for automation, computing and the modern understanding of systems.
Portrayed in dyforme (2016) as a large-scale photomosaic of 4,800 pictorial elements, dismantled piece by piece by a machine over the course of the exhibition.
